Skills Generation is an approved Queensland Department of Youth Justice, Employment, Small Business and Training Skills Assure Supplier and that means we offer a number of courses that attract Government funding. If you are not eligible for a Government funded course, we offer upfront payment as well as flexible payment plan options, to make it easy to manage your training fees within your budget.

Subsidised Courses - Funding Programs

As an approved Skills Assure Supplier we access the Certificate 3 GuaranteeVETiS, Higher Level Skills and User Choice Programs. These
programs enable eligible students to access training with heavily subsidised fees, meaning they incur very little out of pocket expenses.
Students eligible for subsidised training under these programs can normally only access the funding once, so it is important that you choose your course carefully.

Certificate 3 Guarantee

The Certificate 3 Guarantee supports eligible individuals to complete their first post-school certificate III qualification. Students are required to contribute to the cost of training through payment of a co-contribution fee.

Higher Level Skills

The Higher Level Skills program provides eligible individuals with access to a subsidised training place in selected Certificate IV level or above qualifications, and priority skill sets. Students are required to contribute to the cost of training through payment of a co-contribution fee.

User Choice funding for Traineeships

The User Choice subsidy represents the level of public funding the government contributes towards the total cost of training for eligible apprentices and trainees. Students undertaking Traineeships who are eligible for funding are required to contribute to the cost of training through payment of a co-contribution fee.

Traineeship Courses and Co-Contribution Fees

Skills Generation courses that can be undertaken as Traineeships.

The co-contribution fee is expressed as nominal hours. The co-contribution fee is the amount payable for the qualification by an eligible student. This fee may differ for some courses depending if the student qualifies for a concession rate or not.

* Nominal hours represent the anticipated hours of supervised learning and training deemed necessary to conduct training/learning and assessment activities associated with the course of study. Nominal hours will differ from course to course depending on the number of course units and course requirements.

If you are not eligible for a Government subsidy, or if your preferred course is not on our approved subsidised course list, we offer a wide range of courses available to you on a fee for service basis. Payment Plans are available to assist learners and VET Student Loans are also available for select Diploma level courses.

Subsidised Courses - Funding Programs

Smart and Skilled Program

Skills Generation is an approved provider of the NSW Government’s Smart and Skilled Program.

The Smart and Skilled Program is a reform of the NSW vocational education and training system. It supports people to gain the skills and knowledge they need to get a job and advance their careers by offering qualifications on the NSW Skills List that are partially or fully subsidised for eligible students.

Eligibility

All training subsidised by the NSW Government Smart and Skilled Program is subject to students meeting eligibility requirements.

Students may be eligible for NSW Smart and Skilled subsidised training if they meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • The individual either lives or works in New South Wales
  • An Australian citizen, a permanent Australian resident, a humanitarian visa holder or a New Zealand citizen
  • Aged 15 years or older
  • No longer at school

Skills Generation is approved to provide Smart and Skilled subsidised training in specific qualifications to learners residing in specific regions.

Smart and Skilled approved courses, regions and fee categories

Training in priority qualifications is fee-free for eligible students and fully funded by the NSW and Commonwealth governments. Students not eligible for Fee Free training or Fee Exemption pay a contribution toward their subsidised training.

Fees are set by the NSW Government and the fees listed below are as published on the NSW Skills List as at 01/07/2023. Fees may change from time to time, the schedule of fees for each qualification can be accessed on the NSW Skills List.

Subsidised Courses - Funding Programs

Priority Industry Training Program

Eligibility

Skills Generation is an approved provider of training for the Western Australian Government’s priority industry qualifications.

The training is to ensure current or future high-demand occupations can be filled by highly skilled staff throughout Western Australia.

All training subsidised by the Department of Training and Workforce Development is subject to students meeting the following eligibility requirements:

  • primary place of residence is in Western Australia
  • no longer at school
  • working 20 hours or more per week for a single employer
  • an Australian citizen; or
  • a permanent visa holder or holder of visa subclass 309, 444, 785, 790, 820 or 826;
  • a dependent or spouse of the primary holder of a visa subclass 457; or
  • a Bridging Visa E holder (subclasses 050 and 051) and you have made a valid application for a visa of subclass 785 or 790.

Approved Courses and Regions

Training in priority industry qualifications is fee free in 2023 for eligible students and fully funded by the Department of Training and Workforce Development.

Classroom training forms part of this course and will be delivered in the Perth CBD.

Fee for Service

Individuals not eligible for Government subsidised training through a funding program can access high-quality training by paying full fees upfront, or by taking advantage of flexible payment plans or study loans. In addition, students may access VET Student Loans (VSL) for approved Diploma level courses.

There is a payment option to suit every budget so you can invest in your future now.

Payment Plans are available through the PaySmart payment platform. This allows you to make weekly, fortnightly or monthly payment instalments – please note that fees apply.  Paying in instalments allows you to manage your finances within your budget.

Course fees need to be paid in full before we can issue a Certificate or Statement of Attainment on successful completion of studies, whether for just a few units, a skill set or a full qualification.

VET Student Loan (VSL) Fees

A VET Student Loan (VSL) is a loan from the Australian Government that helps eligible students pay their tuition fees. Your loan is repaid through the Australian tax system when you reach the minimum income threshold for repayment.
